Residential Accommodation
The Inn's Malthouse dates back to 1762, and is one of just three left in the town. Publicans
malted barley and brewed their own beer here until the middle of the 19th Century. Tanning, another important
trade in the town at the time, was also carried out at this location.
In keeping with the character of the setting, the Malthouse has been sympathetically converted
to provide six attractively appointed bedrooms. All rooms have en-suite bathroom, television, telephone/modem
connection, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
Guests can enjoy a full English Breakfast overlooking the Courtyard, or relax in the quiet
Residents Lounge where there is plenty to read. All rooms are non-smoking.
There is ample car parking space at the rear of The Talbot. It is regretted that pets are not
allowed at the Inn.
